Post-secondary education in Canada

Post-secondary schools can be divided into many different groups. Although the changing roles of institutions are making this kind of distinction less clear, universities continue to grant more degrees, while colleges of all types continue to grant more diplomas, certificates, and attestations. In an increasing number of cases, the same institution is both degree-granting and non-degree-granting.

If we simplify the system of tertiary education, we can divide schools into 3 categories – colleges, universities and VET schools (Vocational Education Training). Information Planet exclusively cooperates with all 3 types of institutions. Most of them are also able to grant Work Permit as an addition to Study Permit. Do you want to have a chance to stay in Canada 3 years and more after finishing degree-granting institution? Read more about Post-grad Work Permit here

Need to transfer?

Would you like to study Canadian prestigious university but you don’t have sufficient knowledge of English? Or are you afraid of being refused? You can start your path to post-secondary degree at college and after few years transfer to university.

In some field of studies, you can basically study 2 years at college and then transfer for the third year to university and receive your Bachelor degree without repeating most of your subjects.

There are many colleges that are specializing on university pathway programs, but you can check also www.bctransferguide.ca or www.educationplanner.ca for more detailed information.
