The college is named for Mount Diablo, which is seen from the college’s beautiful and manicured 100+ acre campus.
Since 2000, IEC@DVC has provided English language instruction and a path to college and university acceptance to students from more than 50 countries. The International Education Center offers intensive English, academic preparation and conditional admission to Diablo Valley College (DVC) - the number one transfer community college to UC Berkeley! IEC offers 6 different levels of academic ESL and has 6 sessions per year that are each 8-weeks long. In addition, IEC teams with DVC to offer 3 academic bridge programs per year. Upon completion of the highest level of English, 95% of IEC students continue their education at Diablo Valley College and other colleges and universities throughout the U.S. Through the transfer program, students can complete the first two years of bachelor degree study and then transfer to a number of University of California campuses, California State University campuses, private or out-of-state universities.
